The only new years resolution I kept this year, actually the only resolution I've ever kept, was reading through the Bible. OK- to be honest I’ve missed the boat. I still have half of Isaiah and some of Ezekiel left and I’m sure I won’t be finishing them in the next 7 hours. I guess I will be reading through the Bible in a year and a day or 2. I don’t recommend reading Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, & Revelations last. Hard to get motivated sometimes! I guess it is better than Leviticus & Numbers.
Sometime in the middle of the year I decided that in 2010 I would pursue this journey chronologically. It's surprising how much the Old Testament jumps around and I found it really hard to follow some of it. Especially dealing with all those kings. Good grief!
I'm hoping that I'll be able to use this blog to keep track of the things I find poignant, interesting, and outright strange. I'm sure I missed about 10 thousand things reading through it this year. I’m also sure I’ll come across many things that relate to current situations. Sometimes things in our life seem outright biblical. At least I don’t take baths on our roof :-)
I'm using this reading plan if you are at all interested.
